Profile of Dr. Andrew Wang

Dr. Wang was former General Counsel and General Manager of the Legal and Compliance Department of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd and China Development Bank (Hong Kong) Branch (the Banks).
Prior to his appointment to the Banks in 2003 and 2006 respectively, Dr. Wang spent more than twenty years in private practice, including as the Managing Partner of what was then the fifth largest law firm in Hong Kong and Partner at DLA PIPER, a law firm with 5,000 lawyers globally in charge of the Banking and Finance Practice in Asia.
Dr.Wang, an active member of the community, has served on numerous Government Boards, Statutory Bodies, NGO and Charitable Organizations.
He is appointed as the Chairman to the Appeal Tribunal Panel (Buildings) and the Residential Care Homes (Elderly Persons) Appeal Board which is a District Court Judge level appointment.
He was invited by former President Bill Clinton to participate as a business leader at the Clinton Global Initiative held in New York, 2005.
Dr. Wang is a Notary Public and Solicitor of the High Court in Hong Kong, United Kingdom and Singapore. He is also a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, Civil Celebrant and accredited Arbitrator in PRC.
He is one of the Founding Partner and General Counsel of MCG Capital ( Venture Capital, Assets Management and Private Equity ) and an Independent Non-Executive Director of Man Sheng Education Group ( listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange ).
